Term 4 Sports – Still needing more parent coaches and managers

Thu Sep 22 06:05pm

Thank you to the parents who have emailed to offer assistance with the sport teams for term 4.

I am still needing more parents to volunteer as coaches or managers for hockey and the U10 touch rugby teams. These roles are much easier when they can be shared between parents.

Without support from parents, I cannot enter teams into the competitions.

If you child is playing hockey or touch rugby and you are able to volunteer your time as a coach or manager, could you please email jacinta@stpiusx.school.nz

Once I have confirmation of coaches and managers for each team, then I will be able to go ahead with registering these sports teams.

Many thanks, Jacinta Radford

Term 4 Sports – Important Information

Wed Sep 21 06:16pm

Thank you to everyone who registered their child for sports teams in term 4, I am just finalising the teams for each sport.

As you are aware, we need parents to volunteer to take on the roles of manager and coach for each team. These roles are much easier when they can be shared between parents.

Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to coach or manage a team, but unfortunately we do not have enough to support each team.

FIRST COMMUNION HELPERS NEEDED PLEASE!!

Thu Aug 25 03:15pm

Coming up in September we will be celebrating the Sacrament of First Communion with our Parish community.  We have over 90 children preparing for this Sacrament.  As has been a tradition here in our parish we ask parents of children who celebrated this Sacrament the previous year to help with the hospitality side of the celebration in St Joseph’s Church Hall on the day of the Mass.  This involves:

  *   Being in the kitchen before Mass as families bring their food in
  *   Warming up food as required during Mass
  *   Setting up the First Communicants table with some of the ‘party food’ families will be bringing
  *   Setting up food on tables in the supper room
  *   Serving tea and coffee as people arrive
  *   Clearing off empty plates
  *   Dishes and tidy up of kitchen/hall area after the celebration.

This is a lovely way of helping make the celebration such a special day for the children and families involved. Please consider helping out!!  It would be great if we have representatives from all three of our Catholic primary schools.

We require helpers for two Masses:

  *   Sunday 11th September at 11am.  Approximate time of help needed 10am – 2.30pm (about 8 helpers needed)
  *   Sunday 18th September at 10.30am (Mass is at OLHC and celebration at St Joseph’s Church Hall afterwards)  Approximate time of help needed 11am – 2.30pm (about 5 helpers needed)

Please email me with your offers of help!
